Autrefois, chaque ville utilisait l\u2019heure solaire locale, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire que midi correspondait au passage du Soleil au z\u00e9nith. Mais l\u2019absence d\u2019une heure standard provoquait de nombreux probl\u00e8mes pour les compagnies ferroviaires\u202f: horaires incoh\u00e9rents selon les r\u00e9gions, perturbations des arriv\u00e9es et des d\u00e9parts, et surtout, risques pour la s\u00e9curit\u00e9. Une collision mortelle \u00e0 Cleveland, en 1891, due \u00e0 une montre en avance, entra\u00eena la cr\u00e9ation de normes strictes pour les montres officielles. Forte de son exp\u00e9rience dans l\u2019univers horloger, Omega \u00e9tait la marque toute trouv\u00e9e pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 ces exigences en mati\u00e8re de pr\u00e9cision. C\u2019est ainsi que de nombreuses compagnies de chemin de fer \u00e0 travers le monde dot\u00e8rent leur personnel de diff\u00e9rents mod\u00e8les propos\u00e9s par la manufacture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>L\u2019arriv\u00e9e de la montre Railmaster<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce n\u2019est qu\u2019en 1957 qu\u2019Omega con\u00e7ut une montre-bracelet sp\u00e9cifiquement d\u00e9di\u00e9e au personnel des transports ferroviaires&nbsp;: la Railmaster. Notons qu\u2019\u00e0 cette \u00e9poque, Omega s\u2019inscrit dans une p\u00e9riode d\u2019effervescence technologique et scientifique, o\u00f9 l\u2019exploration est au c\u0153ur des pr\u00e9occupations d\u2019un monde en pleine mutation. En effet, la montre peut r\u00e9sister \u00e0 des champs magn\u00e9tiques allant jusqu\u2019\u00e0 1 000 gauss \u2013 \u00e0 savoir que les pi\u00e8ces d\u2019\u00e9poque atteignaient \u00e0 peine les 60 gauss. Aujourd\u2019hui, quatre nouvelles variations en acier de 38 mm de diam\u00e8tre entrent en collection. Les deux premi\u00e8res, disponibles sur un bracelet en acier alternant les surfaces polies et bross\u00e9es ou en cuir noir, poss\u00e8dent un cadran gris d\u00e9grad\u00e9 noir vers l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur. \u00d4t\u00e9 de tout superflu, celui-ci affiche, \u00e0 midi, le logo \u00ab&nbsp;Omega&nbsp;\u00bb et, \u00e0 6 heures, celui de \u00ab&nbsp;Railmaster&nbsp;\u00bb. La r\u00e9serve de marche diff\u00e8re selon les mod\u00e8les \u00e9quip\u00e9s de la fonction petite seconde &#8211; cadran beige &#8211; qui offre 60 heures de r\u00e9serve de marche, \u00e0 la diff\u00e9rence de 55 heures pour les versions cadran gris. Les deux \u00e9ditions ci-dessous, \u00e9tanches jusqu\u2019\u00e0 150 m\u00e8tres, arborent un cadran beige d\u00e9grad\u00e9 noir, agr\u00e9ment\u00e9 d\u2019une petite seconde \u00e0 6 heures. Ce duo accentue son allure r\u00e9solument r\u00e9tro avec des chiffres et des index rev\u00eatus de mati\u00e8re luminescente beige, ainsi que des bracelets en acier ou en cuir Novonappa brun dor\u00e9.
